website: http://www.whidbeyislandreiki.comSue, a Reiki practitioner since 1993 and Reiki Master Teacher since 2004, offers healing sessions, holistic lifestyle coaching and Reiki training in her sanctuary space in Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey Island. Reiki is a hands-on energy clearing practice that is soothing, restorative and rejuvenating on all levels. Clients relax, fully clothed, while hands are placed gently upon the body over the major organs and energy centers. Reiki is supportive to the endocrine and immune systems, as well. An individual session takes 60 – 90 minutes; call or email to schedule a session. A sliding fee scale is available for those who may need it. We can always work something out.
Sue recently added second table in the Reiki space that features a heated far-infrared amethyst mat which can be used together with Reiki, or on its own. It brings with it the benefits of not only far-infrared healing rays, but negative ions and other health benefits, as well. Please visit the website for more information.
Reiki is quite simple to learn and practice on oneself and others. Classes are offered a few times per year as Sue’s schedule allows, so please call or email for more information if you have an interest in learning Reiki. Class size is generally held to four participants. Sue was trained in the Usui Reiki method founded by Mikao Usui in Japan. Her master teachers were Rev. Fran Brown, who was trained by Hawayo Takata, and Jeanine Sande who was trained by Iris Ishikuru, all members of Reiki’s direct, original lineage that has been passed down through generations.
Sue’s background also involves years of training with Native American teachers, as well as involvement with a wide variety of spiritual teachers and practices. In addition, she has had a career spanning over 35 years in human services as a social worker, teacher and administrator. Sue has facilitated a variety of classes and workshops over the years including meditation, intensive journal, grief & loss/death & dying, stress reduction and various art techniques. Sue’s experience and wisdom weave together to create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for those wishing to engage with healing work, a more holistic lifestyle, and/or to deepen spiritual practice.
Sue has a BA in Art Education, an MA in Counseling, an MSW in Social Work, and is a Reiki Master Teacher.
